At 8 years old Tamara had her hair styled for school pictures at United Artist Beauty School. That visit left such a lasting impression that she decided to make a career in cosmetology.
She returned at 18 to attend the school and since 1983 has never worked a day behind the chair, stating, “It’s really fun to style hair and no it doesn’t feel like a job.”
Tamara’s love for creating has driven her to become certified in technical haircutting with Alan Benfield Bush Academy and in hair design with Martin Parson’s updos. Continuing her education to stay updated on the latest styles is a must.
When consulting with a client about their hair desires, this attentive stylist takes into consideration her clients’ lifestyle, such as how much time they dedicate to their hair and products they prefer to use. She also likes to reflect back on a time in their life when they loved their hair. With this information she can best achieve her clients’ current hair goals.
Tamara prides herself on being able to take an image and adapt it to any hair type, always keeping in mind factors like health and maintenance. “What I like the most is hearing the words ‘I LOVE MY HAIR’ from each and everyone of my clients.”
When outside of the salon, she enjoys giving back to the community. This busy lady is a member of multiple non profit organizations, including Wayfarer’s Chapel in Palos Verdes, that help feed the needy here in San Pedro.
Tamara’s kindness and skill will put your mind at ease and your hair in good hands.
